Glarbl Blarbl Orion-Glarbl Mining Bureau 1	Posted - 2012.03.14 21:11:00 - [2] - Quote Ok, so yesterday eve ran on my borrowed iMac albeit a bit slowly -- was able to get two clients running together but not without lag to the point of unusability. My macbook would download the patch happily but never install it. or something. I have posted the specs for both in earlier/other threads. I tried reinstalling the entire client like 3 or 4 times on the macbook yesterday, deleting my eve library directories each time (wth, gonna have to redo settings anyway)... No joy. tried deleting common.ini buried deep in the app tree.. Got up today and tried updating the client again on the macbook and it didn't work. So another round of deleting and re-copying had me downloading 344784-350962.. Which failed. "Client update was unsuccessful" Which is the same thing it said on the iMac a minute ago. So I have 3 accounts i pay for that I can't play on any of the computers here. I'd be really sad if I couldn't play anymore because I can't mine enough to manufacture my way to 3 plexes... I see in the general thread (god how i hate scouring webforums, hate it SO MUCH) that there is supposed to be a 1.06 version of the launcher. Both macs say they're running 1.04. Is that the problem? Cyrillic users and windows users got a frontpage post and/or a tweet for their workarounds, is there one for the mac that I missed in the eight million posts in the main crucible 1.5 feedback thread? http://pastebin.com/1QqAUvJQ has the launcher log from the macbook, and http://pastebin.com/6XBZ0Z8v has some errors found in the syslog. I'd really like to be reassured that the mac community here hasn't been forgotten... In the meantime I'm really glad I picked up mass effect 3 the other day.

Still showing the launcher as v. 1.04 front page says it's supposed to be 1.09. It also mentions a repair tool which apparently wasn't bothered with for the mac port either. This time the patch number was slightly higher, but it didn't download it. I'd post more logs but it seems like no one is reading them. By which I mean to say, with apologies to Roger Waters: Hello? Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me... Is there anyone home?

At least now I know that it doesn't matter if the mac launcher says it's 1.04 and not 1.09.. Would have been nice to hear that from someone who works at CCP instead of having to hack it out. OFFTOPIC: Anybody ever notice how it's nearly impossible to read those orange links against the nebula (under the bannerhead) where it says which forum you're in? Yeah, that's annoying.

At this point i'm feeling chagrined that I was happy enough w Crucible 1.1 that I spent actual dollars to buy some PLEX, you can bet your sweet ass I'm never giving this company money again. You won't even let me get the time I paid for. All in all, very disappointed in the lack of communication from CCP's end on this patch week. What the ** were you peeople thinking trying to roll out a big point release at the same time you're partying in Iceland? Exasperated, GB

My android device told me my queue was getting low (thought I had set it for a long train, whatever).. So I tried to hop back in on my imac -- which was running the client last night. Now your idiotic launcher wants to download the ENTIRE ***** CLIENT. After it downloads it'll probably say "Client update unsuccessful", but I won't be here to see it. So my queue is going to run out later today and I can't do about it. Still waiting to hear something in this thread from CCP. Please stop ignoring us, it's starting to really ** me off.

Too bad you guys can't be bothered to let us know here, directly. I'm really confused as to why this thread exists, it was obviously never intended to be used to help Mac customers.

I'm not going to bother posting any error logs since they probably say the same thing they said a week ago -- and because I highly doubt anybody at CCP is following this thread. Maybe 1.5.4 will have the fix for mac? I'm not holding my breath, but this time I'm definitely asking for compensation. Get your **** together, CCP.
